Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail – Now on AOL

By Find2k | September 10, 2008

AOL.com is one of the bigger players in the market and as we all know the major traffic to a portal comes from Mail and so Yahoo, MSN, Google and AOL is focusing more on their Email services and features, so that they can retain their users and add on new ones as well.

In this competition, AOL have come up with a great option for the online users and that is now you can access your Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail email accounts from AOL.com itself… Wow now that’s certainly a solution.

AOL in their Homepage Blog have announced their new mail feature, an option by which now an online user can access Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail and AOL Mail via the same portal page.

In their post named “Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail on AOL.com??!!” they have mentioned that:

We realize that AOL.com is not the only web site that you use and that you may, like many of us, have multiple email accounts with different providers. We received a lot of positive feedback from many of you on the AOL Mail Preview and the convenience of that experience. But to make us even more useful, we need to embrace reality that you visit other sites and become more of a launch pad to your other online experiences. With that in mind, we wanted to give you the ability to preview your e-mail from other providers like Gmail and Yahoo! directly on AOL.com. Why shouldn’t you be able to preview all your e-mail accounts in one place?!

We’re really excited about this new feature and we hope you are too. But if you’re not, you can replace the e-mail previews with other options like Music, Radio, TMZ, eBay, and more.

Let’s move onto how this new mail feature works.

There are three email providers we’ve added to AOL.com: Yahoo!, Gmail, and Hotmail. For each mail provider, when you mouse-over the Preview Panel, you’ll find step by step instructions to guide you through the set-up process.

So let’s check it out here: AOL homepage

I really loved the option and now you have to tell me how your experience was and what your take on this is.
