Google Office for MS Office
By Find2k | June 20, 2007
I am happy to tell you all that “Google Office” which was made on the concept of MS Office with a basic difference of being available online is now with complete features. As after Google Documents and Google Spreadsheets the only thing lacking was PowerPoint presentations. Now Google got their PowerPoint presentation feature also. The new addition in the Google Docs and spreadsheets family is here, please welcome “Google presentations”.
It’s true, as Google has acquired Zenter Inc. which is a startup specialized company in online presentations and the acquisition generally means that the PowerPoint like featured web application is now an add-on in Google’s Office like suite.
A lot of time we heard about the information sharing and also making information available to the customers in just few clicks, since a long time. As Google was working till now on getting the whole MS Office concept online and after Google docs (writley) and spreadsheets, they have acquired a presentation-sharing application with creation capabilities by acquiring the known technology of Zenter.
As per the Google blog, as soon as the web application gets ready for the launch with the official Google docs and spreadsheets suite, the Google office will be completed.
Now that’s what Google is ready to give but definitely this doesn’t mean that it’s the end of MS Office, as there will be many who won’t be able to work on a online Office suite.
One thing is sure, now the arena is becoming warmer and fight can show new colors and new features… good and bad… But it will be sure worth watching!
