Google Content Network – New Features
By Find2k | August 24, 2008
Google will soon enable the number of new features, which has been made possible by a new DoubleClick ad serving cookie on the Google content network. All advertisers will soon be able to take advantage of these features.
Many of the features will be launched in next few months and the advertisers can keep themselves updated regarding this on our Official Google Blog.
These features will help advertisers to meet the ROI goals by concentrating on getting the ad impressions from the best inventory and at the most relevant time. Google will now help advertisers to effectively manage the campaigns on the Google content network.
As per Google:
“These enhancements are the latest result of our integration with DoubleClick and our commitment to making advertising on the Google content network more efficient and accountable. When we purchased DoubleClick, we talked about how we would empower agencies, advertisers and publishers to collaborate more efficiently and effectively, and provide a better experience for our users. We are happy that we have been able to deliver on this promise already, like support for third party vendors on the Google content network.”
The new enhancements on Google Content Network are:
1. Frequency Capping
2. Frequency Reporting
3. Improved Ads Quality
4. View-Through Conversions
These are the four brand new features, which will help the advertisers to get a better ROI from this service by Google AdWords. Let’s get into the details of what these features are:
1. Frequency Capping
It enables advertisers to control the number of times a user sees an ad. Users will have a better experience on Google content network sites because they will no longer see the same ad over and over again. So by the entire control of the ads will be given to the advertiser.
2. Frequency Reporting
This provides an insight into the number of people who have seen your ad campaign, for how many times and on an average how many people are seeing these ads via Google Content Network.
3. Improved Ads Quality
This feature brings performance improvements within the Google content network.
4. View-Through Conversions
It enables advertisers to gain insights on how many users visited their sites after seeing an ad and how many clicked on the ad. This will help an advertiser in determining the best places to advertise so that the users will see more relevant ads.
How they are doing it?
Well, they are enabling this functionality by implementing a DoubleClick ad-serving cookie across the Google content network. Using the DoubleClick cookie means that DoubleClick advertisers and publishers don’t have to make any changes on their websites as we continue our integration efforts and offer additional enhancements. This also means that with one click, users can opt out of a single cookie for both DoubleClick ad serving and the Google content network. (If a user has already opted out of the DoubleClick cookie, that opt-out will also automatically apply to the Google content network.)
Now we all are real excited about this integration of Google and DoubleClick with the upcoming improvements that they are trying to make in the Google content network, which will help us to show more relevant ads and also to control the ads rotation so that the user doesn’t have to see the same ad over and over again.
